Illustrator Nan Lawson has a style that I can only describe as “sweetheart nerd”. Her pieces combine a soft and sweet quirky flair to recognizable pop culture figures. She has a unique style of portraiture and character busts. What I love about her work is the cute way she draws characters with their eyes closed. Its a soft, peaceful and meditative feeling. These characters come to life with the detailed line work and lovely use of color.
Here we have Mr. Fox from Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox
This is Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones.
Here is Ron Swanson from Parks and Recreation pondering the meaning of life over this burger. Which I oftentimes do as well.
An adorable spin on Adventure Time.
Here there is a series called “the little ones”. These drawings have the semi creepy doll dot eyes and can either be interpreted as eerie or cute, or maybe a little of both. This is Harry Potter, obv.
Margot Tenenbaum, from the Royal Tenenbaums. Arguably my favorite Wes Anderson movie.
We all know macaroons are little cloud puffs from heaven.
Then there’s this little guy. I can truly relate to this. All day every day.
You can find her work on her website and also proceed to purchase a tote bag or phone case on Society 6.
